Good video thanks looks good
I wish a company would bring out magnetic hoops as standard when ya buy a machine !
Wonderful presentation.
Thank you so much
I love your instruction. It answered many questions I have for the 990. I am also very impressed with your studio's included 5 year service with the purchase of this amazing machine.
Hi Brad, Wonderful demo! Would it be useful to use a sticky template of the design and use Bernina's pinpoint placement to make sure the design is in the correct place? It seems that scanning every time is pretting time consuming. Maybe the camera can substitute for a template?
sure but its only 70 seconds. In real life it's not such a burden. Would be annoying to watch a video of it for sure though lol. using a template would definitely work great its just not for everyone
Thanks-keep making more videos
After you hit the cut button, does it leave exposed threads?
it's locked with the short stitches at the end so you just trim em and you can't see it at all, it's just as if you cut em on a longarm with scissors
@@EllicottCitySewVac Thank you for answering my question.
“This is the 9mm stitch plate, and it comes with a 5mm stitch plate and a 0mm stitch plate” “You can set the stitches in stitch-per-inch, because this is America, we use inches”. Literally made me laugh out loud 😂😂😂😂 Love the introduction to the machine. I love when men are interested and clearly excited by sewing machines. Makes me feel like I’m not alone ❤
Well the 9mm plate is 0.354331 inches if you prefer freedom units...
@@EllicottCitySewVac hahahahah freedom units. 😂😂😂😂. Brilliant.
Iknow the machine maximam speed
Thanks for taking the time! Very informative!
Thank you for such an informative tutorial. Bernina has made edge to edge quilting much simpler and the scan with the laser makes the connection perfect.
So how do you put the hoop on? Just skip over that
Oh! You just pinch these little springloaded things on the left side of the hoop and drop it right onto the embroidery unit, it's dead easy. I cut that out trying to shave time off a ridiculously long video!
Great instructions, thank you!
Thank you, thank you for putting this video online. I just found your channel and have been watching all the 990 videos. Very well done. I live on the west coast, so appreciate the videos.
Between the brother and the bernina E2E, which is your favourite? (sorry if you have answered this later in the video, as I have immediately typed this question at the very start)
Baby Lock is easier to do the built in e2e but only have 10 options. We will see when the new machine is out if it gives us more but as it stands the 990 is better imo because it is way more versatile.
Awesome video thank you Brad ❤
You are an outstanding teacher. It is quite the process to hoop and rehoop. To quilt an entire quilt will be a many day process.
Yah i would keep it to smaller projects personally
Thanks for these videos. Can't wait to see the machine on the 6th.
Wonderful video. Thank you!
It’s awesome that you can stitch even though the whole design doesn’t fit in the hoop!
Blew my mind
I've been embroidered on a Bernina for 20 years and did not know this!! I have an 880 and quilt large quilts - THANK YOU!!!
Love the idea of the cup foot-for free motion, I can’t tell you how many times I catch on a seam if a us the stippling foot (which I no longer use)
Thanks for this great demo-I’m new to Bernina but getting a 990. Why did you level using the fabric and not the placement lines (i typically use 4-6 marks to ensure the design is aligned). The fabric can stretch and with denser patterns it could make a bigger difference
Yeah would've been better to use the marks the whole way you're right
Thanks!
Thanks for showing us this
I love your videos! My brain responds to your teaching style!
At last a demonstration of the giant hoop being hooped. THANK you
love you and thank you for sharing
I have being saying it for years that the slide on table should have legs.
Any idea why Bernina didn't center the camera over the needle? That's driving me nuts that the view is off to the right at an angle. Isn't everyone else's camera centered?
Only other camera machine i use is babylock and the camera is offset there too. The camera module is just too big to be in line with the needlebar.
@@EllicottCitySewVac Thank you for clarifying. Maybe in actual use it wouldn't seem bothersome to me.
QUESTION about the tablet: You demonstrated a search using a number, but can it search by typing a stitch name too?
number only, on the sewing side. Embroidery can be searched by filename though.
Can you use the free arm to slip a t shirt over or do you have to hoop the t shirt like previously

Üzgünüm, Türkçe konuşamıyorum.
What I would really like to see from you is a direct comparison between the B990, the PFAFF ICON 2, Janome M17, and the Baby Lock Solaris 2, and to know your opinion in this regard
I dont have a pfaff icon or the janome, i only sell baby lock and bernina. When i get the new Baby Lock Radiance next month, I will be able to compare it with that.
Thank you so much for sharing this technique. I haven’t seen anyone share this yet. Wow!
Twenty three thousand dollars, is alot
This is wonderful! Learning while I wait!
Good gravy, young man!! This was THE BEST video I have seen about this new machine. I have one on order here in the UK and was hesitant about keeping the order as I have a 790 (not the Pro) and it really is all I need for the sewing I do (mostly piecing for quilts [I do have a long arm] and a bit of mending), but the more I see all the bells and whistles with this 990, I just might have to eat rice and beans the rest of my life so I can afford this baby!! What an awesome bit of sewing technology!! Thank you so much!!
Great video!
Oh Wow, Bernina hit this machine out of the ballpark. I am so impressed! I am waiting patiently for the new Brother Aveener release. Boy am I hoping that they will out do this B990. I would love to trade my Brother Luminaire but Brother has a huge competitor with this B990, I'm on the fence at this point!
Don't worry, I'll be doing comprehensive videos on my thoughts about the Baby Lock Radiance, too. (same machine)
@@EllicottCitySewVac Yes, I thought that will be closely related to the Brother. I will watch for that one also. I am excited to compair them.
The best of this video is the animation on screen with camera to be able to sew exactly on track!
right? I love that.
Good video thanks
Great video! Keep sharing Brad. I’ll be able to hit the ground running when my machine arrives. Thanks 😊
So it cost around £13,000 or 15K USD... but I have to admit, it is a very capable machine.
I love really enjoy your teaching style.
